After winning the election last week, President-elect Donald Trump began releasing his choices for cabinet nominees and appointees. Some of these were expected and hinted at before the election. However, others have been a big surprise and are making waves in Washington.

List of Trump’s cabinet picks and top appointees

Trump has wasted no time announcing his appointments to top positions and cabinet nominees. Over the last week, the president-elect has released a steady trickle of press releases, which has given us a better picture of what Trump’s second term will look like.

As of November 14, 2024, Trump has announced the following appointments and cabinet nominations:

  • “Border Czar” (actual position TBD): Tom Homan
  • Ambassador to Israel: Mike Huckabee
  • Chief of Staff: Susie Wiles
  • CIA Director: John Ratcliffe
  • Department of Government Efficiency (Not yet created): Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy
  • Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Personnel: Taylor Budowich
  • Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative, Political, and Public Affairs: James Blair
  • Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor: Stephen Miller
  • Deputy Chief of Staff: Dan Scavino
