Watch The First Trailer For Netflix’s ‘Marco Polo’ Original Series

Marco Polo didn’t discover Asia, nor was he the first European to make his way into the Far East. But in the 13th Century, Marco Polo was the first explorer to recount his experiences in Asia as a detailed account in writing, which created a legend that endures to this day.

In December, Netflix will premiere all ten episodes of its “Marco Polo” original series, with newcomer Lorenzo Richelmy playing the title role alongside a cast that includes Benedict Wong (Prometheus), Joan Chen (“Twin Peaks”), Chin Han (The Dark Knight), Zhu Zhu (Cloud Atlas), Olivia Cheng (“The Flash”), Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Mahesh Jadu (“Neighbours”), Tom Wu (Skyfall), Remy Hii (Treading Water), Uli Latukefu (Devil’s Playground) and Rick Yune (The Fast and the Furious).

John Fusco (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron) created the “Marco Polo” series and he is the co-showrunner with Dan Minahan for Netflix and The Weinstein Company. Netflix has released the first trailer for “Marco Polo” Season 1, that includes glimpses of Marco’s adventures in China during the reign of Kublai Khan. And it looks like there may even be some naked swordplay involved.

“Marco Polo” will premiere on Netflix on Friday, December 12.
