Louis Vuitton Escale Time Zone cuts a different look than that of the design house’s bags. Courtesy of Louis Vuitton.
Louis Vuitton has cultivated a lookbook that extends far beyond the printed valises, purses and wallets folks like the Kardashians are constantly snapped toting around like added appendages. In fact, Vuitton would probably be better served if more consistent publicity were lent to its seasonal fashion shows and, most recently, its latest time piece.
The Louis Vuitton Escale Time Zone is nothing like the rather horrendous brown bags seen populating LAX baggage claim. In fact, it’s bursting with color. A color wheel animated with the abbreviations of your favorite getaways; an hour, minute and second hand, and date all coexist peacefully on a large dial.

Louis Vuitton Escale Time Zone comes with a leather band and a large dial. Courtesy of Louis Vuitton.
A stainless steel case nicely complements a sapphire crystal and stunning bezel. It also comes complete with a leather band. And while this is indeed Vuitton’s understated incarnation of luxury, it’s robust enough to rock with your favorite tee shirt and jeans.
Should you decide to wear this to a gala, your best option is to keep the rest of your attire just as equally fun. It’s a bold and yet comfortably fashionable step forward for the design house. The look strays from a classic rendering but remains faithful to Vuitton’s version of class. It retails for 5800€.
