Caitlyn Jenner has made a grand entrance into the world, appearing on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine as part of a photoshoot by Annie Leibovitz.
The magazine cover marks the first time the public has seen Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, since her transition.
Speaking in a video interview with the magazine (which you can view below), Caitlyn says: “Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie… Caitlyn doesn’t have any secrets.”
The story of Bruce’s transition to Caitlyn is an incredible one, which along with being inspiring on an individual level, has also sought to improve the media’s portrayal and representation of the transgender community. Whereas initial reporting upon Bruce Jenner’s then-rumored transition was crass and veered into homophobia, as time has passed there has been an outpouring of support for the former athlete, leading to a greater level of understanding from the general public.
Caitlyn will next appear in an E! docu-series detailing her transition.
