Donald Trump’s Manipulated Video of King Charles Raises Eyebrows

Donald Trump has shared a doctored video that paints King Charles as indifferent to a collapsing man, stripping away the full context of a six-year-old encounter. The clip posted on Truth Social during Labour Day formed part of a broader montage designed to present Trump as a compassionate leader while showing other world leaders as cold or dismissive.

The video has a short clip from a 2019 Asda distribution centre visit in Bristol. In the edited sequence, an employee speaks with King Charles before collapsing backwards. The manipulated version shows the then Prince of Wales raising his hands and soon walking away, seemingly not bothered.

The actual footage tells a different story. Charles actually stretched out his arm to catch the falling worker. He stayed close as medical staff attended to the man and only moved away after security reassured him the individual was fine. The worker recovered soon and resumed his conversation with the royal.

Trump’s video carries the caption “the side of Trump the media doesn’t show you.” It pairs the King Charles clip with footage of Donald Trump greeting troops, hugging elderly veterans, and honouring fallen soldiers. The contrast aims to position the US president as “the people’s president.”

The Truth Social post also targets French President Emmanuel Macron, who appears to walk past a collapsed ceremonial guard at the Elysee Palace. Former presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama receive similar treatment. Biden seems to check his watch during a solemn ceremony, while Obama gives his so-called “latte salute” to marine guards while holding a paper cup.

The White House’s choice to portray the King negatively surprised many observers. Trump has long expressed enthusiasm for the royal family and recently called Charles a “great, great guy.” He has also attacked Harry and Meghan for treating the monarchy with “great disrespect,” adding he “wouldn’t have taken them back.”

Palace sources have not commented on the edited clip. The video remains live on Trump’s Truth Social account.
