James Gunn has revealed when the filming for Peacemaker Season 2 of the Max superhero series was slated to end while announcing that John Cena and a few others had already wrapped filming. Gunn remains one of the most active filmmakers/producers on social media, regularly providing fans with updates on various upcoming projects.

Gunn took to Threads on Saturday, November 23, 2024, and announced that John Cena and Jennifer Holland had finished filming for their parts for Peacemaker Season 2. The Suicide Squad director also disclosed that the entire production was to end on Sunday.
“And that’s a Peacemaker Season Two wrap on @johncena [Cena] & @jenniferlholland [Holland], who both turned in wonderful performances this season as Christopher Smith [aka the Peacemaker] and Emilia Harcourt,” Gunn wrote in the caption of a post featuring images of both the actors. “To top it off, shooting yesterday was one of the most fun days of shooting I have EVER had! Thanks to the incredible people of Savannah, Georgia for making the Peacemaker crew’s stay here so special. ONE DAY LEFT!”
In the comment section of the post, a fan asked if Freddie Stroma, who portrays Adrian Chase / Vigilante, has also wrapped filming for the sophomore season. In response, Gunn wrote, “Yes.”
Holland confirmed she completed filming for Peacemaker Season 2 on her Instagram page. “That’s a wrap for me on @peacemaker season 2. What an incredible journey. I’m filled with gratitude for our dream cast and dedicated crew, the story that @jamesgunn [Gunn] wrote for us to bring to life, and all of the beautiful moments and memories that I get to take with me forever.”
The Black Adam actress continued, “I can’t wait for you to see all of the different shades of #EmiliaHarcourt this season. She is a beautiful, tortured soul. Farewell, #peacemaker family. I hope it’s not ‘goodbye’, I hope it’s ‘see you soon.'”
Earlier this month, HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max released a teaser trailer containing footage from Peacemaker Season 2, among other shows. It is reportedly scheduled to premiere in August 2025.
