Ben Howard Cancels Bluesfest, Reschedules Australian Tour

English singer-songwriter Ben Howard has cancelled his appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest 2015, his previously announced Sydney Opera House show, and has rescheduled his entire Australian tour for May/June.

In a statement, Howard’s management say he “has decided to reschedule his tour to ensure he puts on the best show possible for Australian fans”, having only recently arrived home after months of overseas touring.

In a personal statement, Howard has apologised to fans, saying, “Dear Australia… We’re really sorry we’re having to reschedule the upcoming tour – it’s really not what we wanted to do and it’s been an impossible decision to come to.

“We’ve had to make some big changes for the greater good. Hoping you can make the new dates. All will be well and we’ll be back soon in full force.”

In some better news for Howard’s Aussie fans, the indie-folk musician has added a Brisbane show to his now rescheduled tour, which still includes dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. A limited number of tickets will also still be available to purchase for Howard’s new Sydney show, which will take place at the Hordern Pavilion.

Tickets for Howard’s rescheduled shows will be valid for his newly-announced dates. Sydney Opera House ticket holders are being told to contact the point of purchase for refunds no later than Tuesday, 31st March. For more details on refunds, visit the Secret Sounds website.
