Pearl Jam’s 10 Best Protest-Song Covers
Fans did the obvious math when it was announced that Neil and Peggy Young had booked both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, whose members comprise the pre-Pearl Jam supergroup Temple of the Dog, for the intimate annual charity performance. After a series of remarkable stripped performances from Soundgarden, Florence and The Machine, Neil Young, Norah Jones, Brian Wilson and more, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell joined his friends in Pearl Jam to perform the Temple of the Dog classic “Hunger Strike”.
The event marked the fifth performance of Temple of The Dog together since 1991 — which last occurred during Pearl Jam’s unforgettable 20th anniversary music festival in 2012. That makes five for five for this Pearl Jam fan…
