Metallica has announced that it will be closing BlizzCon 2014 with a concert on November 8th. The American heavy metal band will play songs from its latest album, Death Magnetic (2008), as well as from its classic library.
Blizzard issued the following statement:
We’re thrilled to announce that Metallica will be performing the closing concert at BlizzCon 2014, playing before a sold-out convention crowd on the night of November 8! If you didn’t score tickets to the show, don’t worry—you can still get a front-row seat from home with the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket.
Last year Blink 182 closed BlizzCon with what many considered to be a great concert that lasted over an hour.
There’s a quest in World of Warcraft called Ride the Lightning which references Metallica. However, no band members have ever confirmed that they’ve played the game or any other Blizzard product.

If you don’t already have BlizzCon 2014 tickets, you can purchase a BlizzCon Virtual Ticket for $39.99 which gives you full access to streams of every event at the convention, including the closing ceremony which will be host during Saturday evening.
The show will run from November 7th to the 8th, host at the Anaheim Convention Center. Metallica will play on the convention’s largest platform in Hall D.
