Vance Joy has announced a debut album release, Dream Your Life Away, for later this year and dropped the video for the LP’s lead single, ‘Mess Is Mine’.
Set to hit shelves September 5 through Liberation Music, Dream Your Life Away was recorded in the US with producer Ryan Hadlock (Foo Fighters, Gossip, The Lumineers) and will feature hits ‘Riptide’ and ‘From Afar’, plus 11 brand new songs.
The ‘Riptide’-led God Loves You When You’re Dancing EP dominated Australian charts last year and enjoyed huge success in the UK and throughout Europe before recently cracking the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, entering at No.92.
“I have been fortunate that my song has kind of connected with people. Maybe if I written the song in a different time, it might not have had the same reaction,” Vance Joy said of ‘Riptide’, averaging a whopping three million streams per week.
“But it came at the right time and had the right ingredients to appeal to people,” he told P&P. “I guess that’s why I have been able to have the experience I’ve had.”
