After the typical weeks and months of speculation, Splendour In The Grass has finally announced its 2016 lineup in full.
The Byron Bay-based festival has exceeded most expectations this year, pulling out all the stops on the way to naming some massive overseas acts lead by English rockers The Cure, The Strokes, a reunited At The Drive In and James Blake, as well as notable mentions Santigold, Sigur Ros, Jake Bugg and The Kills.
The local contingent is just as impressive, with Flume set to close the main stage on the third day, and huge sets to come from Boy & Bear, Sticky Fingers, Courtney Barnett, Violent Soho, Sampa The Great, Hermitude, Matt Corby, Illy, Ball Park Music, The Preatures, Gang of Youths, Ngaiire and DMA’s.
Aussie experimental-electro group The Avalanches also make a surprise appearance on the bill, with Splendour set to be their only Australian show, and with any luck an indication that their more-than-a-decade-in-the-making sophomore album will be with us beforehand.
Splendour In The Grass will run from Friday, 22nd July to Sunday 24th July at its permanent home of North Byron Parklands.
Tickets go on sale Thursday 21st April at 9 am. See the full lineup below.
