Streaming Beatles Arrives: The Top Ten Beatles Song Streams

With the arrival of The Beatles‘ catalogue on streaming services over Christmas, big numbers were expected, but these are creeping up into Star Wars levels of ridiculous: Beatles tracks were streamed an astonishing 50 million times in the first 48 hours they were available for streaming.

The most popular band to ever exist had previously never offered their music for on-demand streaming services, with licensing disputes preventing the bridge being built. But with legal hurdles clear, Spotify, Amazon Prime, Apple Music and other sites – yes, even Tidal – have been streaming the Fab Four’s music from midnight on Christmas Eve.

The most popular Beatles song thus far is Come Together, which has already been streamed more than 1.8 million times.

Analysis from Brandwatch also found 46k mentions of ‘The Beatles Streaming’ on social media within 12 hours of the launch. 87% of social posts were found to be positive, while 13% were negative – and most likely sourced from Beatles cover/tribute band members and their friends/loved ones, as well as that goddamned Grinch himself.

The complete Beatles top ten on Spotify:

1. Come Together (1.84 million)

2. Let It Be (1.55m)

3. Hey Jude (1.32m)

4. Love Me Do (1.31m)

5. Yesterday (1.23m)

6. Here Comes The Sun (1.23m)

7. Help! (1.22m)

8. All You Need Is Love (1.17m)

9. I Want To Hold Your Hand (1.1m)

10. Twist And Shout (940k).
