Oh, you thought Dave Grohl was going away for a while just because he dropped some free Foo music on our faces and wrote a “goodbye for now” letter? Come on, you know better than that. The man who lives a reality show through endless, breathless news stories took his sticks to a guest appearance on ABC’s “The Muppets,” where he faced legendary wild man drummer Animal in a ferocious drum-off.
The clip finds the Foo Fighter and the wild-eyed maniac going kit to kit in the closing credits. While Animal strikes first, Grohl taps a cymbal and fires back, “Oh what’s that, a bell? Time for school.” And then it’s on.
The hair-flying skin-slugging skills were matched through and through, until the snares, toms and cymbals start flying all over the place and the duo are left with only their sticks.
“You win,” they say simultaneously.
