CraveOnline’s latest video premiere arrives from EDM-pop duo Okapi Sun, who return today with visuals for the second single from their debut album Techno Prisoners. As an added icebreaker bonus for new listeners, Dallas and Leo have made the song available for free download.
“Judy Baby was our first real music video shoot,” the duo tells Crave, “so it was exciting seeing all the ends and outs of putting it together. One of my favorite parts was the driving scene because we used a droid to film…and driving around at 5mph in L.A. was just classic; definitely pissed off some drivers there.”
The track centers on a guy with a bit of an insistent ego. “Judy Baby is a great dance song with a fun story of a guy who doesn’t take no for an answer,” they explain. “In fact he seems to think she wants him and is attracted to him! But the song stands for itself and when we originally spoke to director Huy … we wanted an abstract video for the song and he came up with a great cinematic in the streets of LA that leaves a lot to the interpretation of the viewer.”
