Spoiler Alert. Not even Ed Sheeran could ruin Game of Thrones Thrones Season Seven premiere. Back in May, Sheeran popped off that he would invade our beloved HBO show with a guest cameo.
It only took one episode for our fears to come true as the British pop singer has made good on his promise, appearing as unknown Lannister soldier whom Arya Stark comes across on her “Kill List” spree.

The ginger-haired British pop singer doesn’t see any swordplay or get his head chopped off (yet), but does use his silver tongue to entertain his fellow soldiers with a couple bars of a campfire song entitled “Hands of Gold.”
While Sheeran is not the first musician to make a Game of Thrones cameo (Sigur Ros and Mastodon have appeared) he has drawn the most online haters. For those looking for someone to blame, GOT Showrunner David Benioff revealed that he hired the “Galway Girl” singer as a treat for Maisie Williams who plays fan favorite Arya Stark.
“We knew that Maisie was a big fan of Ed Sheeran and for years we’ve been trying to get him on the show so we can surprise Maisie,” said Benioff. “This year we finally did it.
