LCD Soundsystem kicked off their five-show residency at the just-opened East Williamsburg venue Brooklyn Steel last night. Frontman James Murphy was in classic aging hipster form, telling the adoring audience that they were going to play “songs you know” before “suggesting” to the audience to put their phones away as the quintessential New York electro punk rock band debuted three new songs “Tonight”, “Call Police” and “American Dream” before ending the show with LCD Soundsystem classics, “Dance Yourself Clean” and “All My Friends”.
