Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Reveals Loki’s Shocking Fate in MCU

The rumor mill continues to churn out fresh theories about 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday, with the latest one exploring the fate of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki in the film. The much-awaited Avengers sequel will feature the team-up of a plethora of Marvel superheroes, who will join forces to battle the threat of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. One MCU character who recently switched to the heroic side but has yet to receive an update on his future in the franchise is the God of Mischief. With speculations running wild around whether Loki will die in Avengers: Doomsday, a recent rumor has suggested a different fate for the frost giant.

Loki and Thor rumored to reunite in Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars

According to renowned insider Alex Perez, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki is unlikely to meet his end in Avengers: Doomsday. However, the internet scooper claimed that the events of the film would have a significant impact on the character’s stay on the throne of the End of Time.

During The Cosmic Circus‘ recent Discord Q&A session, Perez also teased a potential reunion between Thor and Loki in or after Avengers: Doomsday. “I don’t think offing him is the plan, since they want Thor and Loki to reunite. However, there will be a shift that takes him off his throne at the End of Time,” he noted.

Perez also shed light on the future of Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom in the MCU. Considering the fact that Marvel Studios is planning to begin its mutant era, Perez noted that the Iron Man actor will exit his villainous role following the upcoming Avengers sequel. Nevertheless, he still emphasized Downey Jr.’s importance in the part, stating, “There’s a reason he has that face.”

Despite Perez’s encouraging updates, Marvel has yet to share an official word regarding Loki’s participation in Avengers: Doomsday. The project is currently on track to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
