Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Wonder Man rumored to join Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars
An industry insider recently revealed that the MCU is planning to include Wonder Man in Avengers 5 and 6. However, the source refrained from divulging more information regarding this development.
The update regarding Wonder Man’s appearance in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars was shared by Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus. During the website’s November 2024 Q&A, Perez was questioned about Marvel’s immediate plans for the character of Simon Williams. The internet scooper provided a speculative reply, stating, “He’s apparently scheduled to show up in the next Avengers’ films, so it’ll be interesting to see where his story goes there.”
Despite Perez’s intriguing comments, the MCU executives have yet to officially share their plans for the aforementioned character. However, Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum did reveal on the Phase Hero podcast that the Wonder Man series will pay tribute to the West Coast Avengers comics.
Interestingly, Williams served as one of the founding members of this rendition of Marvel’s premier superhero team. Moreover, the character also shares deep connections with the Scarlet Witch, as well as Vision in the comics. As such, fans are quickly warming up to the idea of Wonder Man’s potential inclusion in Avengers 5 and 6. That being said, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s future with the MCU remains uncertain at the time of writing as Marvel has yet to officially confirm this.
Wonder Man is scheduled to premiere in December 2025.
