The recently-released trailer/special look of Thunderbolts* has made fans wonder whether Olga Kurylenko’s Taskmaster aka Antonia Dreykov will die in the movie. Set to release in May 2025, the film features Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, and Hannah John-Kamen as they join forces for an unknown task.
Will Antonia Dreykov’s Taskmaster die in Thunderbolts*?
The special look/trailer of Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* was recently revealed at Disney’s D23 fan event which was held in Brazil. While it has been garnering praise and has contributed to the hype around the movie, it has also left fans with numerous doubts. One of them is being discussed widely on X (formerly Twitter), and it is whether Taskmaster will die in this MCU film.
These discussions gained momentum on the platform after fans pointed out how the screen time of Taskmaster was less compared to the other actors. In the 3-minute 41-second clip, fans noticed how Taskmaster was absent from the opening scene where Pugh’s Yelena Belova, Kamen’s Ghost, Russell’s John Walker, and Harbour’s Red Guardian were in the car while being chased down by some officials. Just then, Stan’s Bucky aka Winter Soldier is also introduced in the clip but there was no sign of Taskmaster with the squad.
Additionally, in another scene where the rest of the team is in the elevator, Taskmaster is missing. However, fans can get a glimpse of her in the scene where the team meets up with Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina in the Stark Tower which she has bought. Apart from the special look, Taskmaster’s absence was also noticeable in the teaser trailer which dropped on September 23, 2024.
However, nothing has been confirmed yet by the studios or Olga Kurylenko. The character is making a return to the MCU with a brand new suit after Black Widow, which was released in 2021.
