I’m not a fan of Nutella at all. I bought it once and didn’t see what the big deal is. Then again plenty of people love that stuff and are willing to do anything to get their hands on it — even risk being murdered. And some people were almost murdered when French supermarket Intermarche slashed the prices of Nutella by 70%. And let’s just say that people went nuts as lines were formed outside the supermarket only for things to get out of hands once everyone rushed inside.
Check out the scene below:

Yep, several people were actually injured.
“People just rushed in, shoving everyone, breaking things. It was like an orgy,” one employee told AFP. “We were on the verge of calling the police.”
And here’s more from the chaotic scene:
“All this for Nutella? Seriously?”

The supermarket apologized to its customers, adding that they were “surprised by the sheer demand.” The jars of Nutella usually go for $5.67 but were going for a $1.76. And that’s enough of a discount for people to fight each other. In conclusion, it looks like America isn’t the only place where people stomp on each other’s heads to get their hands on some discounted items.
