You never know what you’re going to find for sale on Craigslist, so it’s always a good thing to set aside ten minutes every day to peruse your local marketplace. I mean, you could wind up with Taylor Swift memorabilia, creepy dolls or even a new kidney.
But odds are you’re not going to be taking home a new car when your form of payment is two giant bags of black market marijuana, especially when the seller of that car is Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell.
According to UPI, Mikesell recently posted a Craigslist ad in hopes of selling his personal vehicle. Well, the ad worked because Mikesell quickly found a taker, but there was one tiny issue. That issue? You guessed it – 39-year-old Shawn Langley wanted to exchange the ride for “four pounds of ‘home grown black-market’ marijuana instead of using cash.”

Of course, we’re not doubting that four pounds of Langley’s homemade quality shit was more than a fair trade for Mikesell’s used car. It’s just that when the guy selling the car is a cop, offering him black market pot doesn’t seem like the smart play, and it indeed wasn’t this time around for Langley, as he, a female companion named Jane Cravens and their two massive bags of weed were met by undercover detectives and taken into custody.
