Classic Florida.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s office, 53-year-old Lakeland woman, Donna Byrne was recently arrested for riding a horse…while drunk. That’s right, kids, Byrne was pulled over by police and they discovered that she smelled of alcohol and had red, watery eyes. Once police got Byrne off the horse saddle, she was found with a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit.

Here’s what Sheriff Grady Judd had to say about Byrne and her drunk-horse riding ways.
“Ms. Byrne was obviously not in any condition to be on the road. She not only put herself and the horse in danger, but also anyone who was driving on the road, which is typically very busy.”
Byrne was also hit with an animal neglect charge. The horse, named Boduke, was taken to the Sheriff’s livestock facility, but chances are Boduke will likely be reunited with Byrne at some point.
Oh, and according to police, Byrne has five previous charges against her, which include cruelty to animals, drug possession and violating her probation.
So Byrne is clearly a useful citizen.
