Ouch.
According to the New York Post, a 43-year-old Indian man is lucky to be alive after authorities said he was wheeled into a hospital last month with a…wait for it…knife sticking out of the back of his head.
Venkata Ram Prasad was apparently riding his bike home on September 14 when some dick stabbed him in the back of his dome and then sped off. By the time police arrived, Prasad was lying in a pool of his own blood, so they quickly scooped him up and rushed him to the nearest hospital. Officials there were able to administer anesthesia despite the fact that the knife was jammed into his spinal cord, which meant that flipping him over to knock him out was out of the question.

Doctors then had to do emergency surgery on Prasad with the knife still lodged in his head because removing the knife first would have resulted in excessive bleeding and probably death. The surgery was deemed a success, as Prasad is “now back on his feet.”
However, it’s still too early to determine whether or not Prasad can’t thank his lucky stars in the matter. On one hand, he should feel lucky that he survived such an ordeal. On the other hand, getting stabbed in the back of your head while you’re enjoying a bike ride home is pretty fucking unlucky.
