Vanity, vanity, vanity.

Let’s all talk about Wayne Esmonde. The 35-year-old was wanted by South Wales police in connection with an assault. So what did the South Wales Police Department do in order to get their man? Well they did what they always do: head to Facebook to share a previous mugshot of Esmonde in order to get the public’s help in finding him. And they arrested him fairly quickly afterwards. But that’s only because Esmonde took one look at his unflattering mugshot and turned himself in.

When the mugshot was shared on Facebook, Esmonde took the time to reply to it in the comments. Here is what he said:

“I am him. Not a very flattering mugshot. I’d appreciate it if you’d take this post down. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.”

Incredible. Let’s take a look at that mugshot now.

Esmonde does look pretty scared in the mugshot. Esmonde eventually spoke with his attorney and surrendered on the charge.

And the South Wales Police Department did remove Esmonde’s mugshot Facebook Although, now that this story has gone viral Esmonde’s mugshot is everywhere. So yeah, not a successful mission, dude.
