Bullies are a-holes. There really isn’t another word to describe them. And it was because bullies that a 16-year-old from Gosport in the United Kingdom was forced to skip her prom. But a bunch of awesome bikers came to her protection.
Shannon Purcier has faced 18 months of bullying mainly because of her battle, according to Distractify, with “ulcerative colitis, a form of inflammatory bowel disease.” On top of that, Shannon is also a coeliac. So it’s pretty obvious that this teen has been through a lot in her young life. And all of the bullying was enough for her to decide to skip her own prom — even after spending $600 on her dress.
Shannon’s mother, Clair Carstens, took it to Facebook to share a photo of her daughter in her prom dress and to call out her bullies.
But there’s a happy ending here. Shannon’s friends and family got together to form a GoFundMe campaign in order for Shannon to have her own prom. The party was attended by over 100 people, and to make sure no bullies got in her way, over 120 bikers Gosport Scooter Club escorted her.
Take a look.

Here’s another photo:
“The best part was when the bikes arrived,” Shannon told The Sun. “I knew they were coming but I had no idea I was going to be riding there on a three-wheeled bike.”
And Clair probably said it best.
“There’s no better way to stick two fingers up at bullies than to go out and enjoy yourself.”
