If you don’t understand the quote above, then perhaps you aren’t a current fan of the long-running FOX comedy Family Guy. Even if you are, we were paraphrasing a line delivered by Mayor Adam West in the Season 10 episode “You Can’t Do That On Television, Peter.”
As we all surely know by now, actor Adam West passed away on June 9th of this year. Along with being known for his iconic role as the titular Batman in the 1960s television series, he is probably most popular with a younger crowd for his voice work on Family Guy. And with good reason. West played a fictionalized version of himself on the show from 2000 to 2017, clocking in 111 episodes and counting. But more on that in a bit. First, let us take a look at the tribute video the series posted to the late thespian earlier today.
Enjoy This Loving Tribute To Mayor Adam West From Family Guy
According to Entertainment Weekly, we’ve not yet seen the last of Mayor West just yet. In an interview with executive producer Steve Callaghan, it was revealed that he will still appear in five episodes next season: “He’s gone, but we can still enjoy his tremendous work for a while longer.”
Furthermore, an “Adam West Celebration” tribute panel will be held this Thursday at Comic-Con, where a number of producers and voice actors including Ralph Garman will attend.
Callaghan summed up his sentiments on West by saying, “Adam West’s legacy in the Family Guy universe is that of an incredibly kind, upbeat, and hysterical man who played an incredibly kind, upbeat, and hysterical — but also totally insane — version of himself. We will miss him greatly and truly think of him as utterly irreplaceable.”
Yeah, we’re not even gonna try to top that.
