Even the geniuses at The Onion couldn’t come up with a headline that perfect.
According to Fox 4 News, an off-duty Fort Worth police officer who dresses as different superheroes on the weekends to bring smiles to the faces of kids with cancer and other illnesses was forced to spring into action while donning a Batman costume at a local Walmart Saturday afternoon after somebody alerted him that a sack of shit was trying to make off with four DVDs without paying for them.
One of those movies? You guessed it: The LEGO Batman Movie.
I was at Wal-Mart as Batman for kids day. This male attempted to steal 4 DVD’s,I stopped him as Batman. He asked me for a selfie as Batman. pic.twitter.com/Ut2LNg5usb

A Walmart community supervisor named Anthony Drake witnessed Batman’s heroics.
“Batman says ‘I want you to know I have this Batman costume on, but I’m an off-duty police officer,'” Drake said.

Since the value of the four movies totaled less than $100, the man who was trying to gank them was only given a citation instead of being hauled down to the clink. The man accepted his citation and then took a selfie with the Batman character who nabbed him, which in our eyes doesn’t make him a “Joker.” No sir. It just makes him a fucking idiot.
