Did you guys ever have that grandmother who you used to sit around the dinner table screaming “here comes that old dirty bastard again!” every time the train came by? Well, just the same, Bill Burr is coming in like a freight train, and this dirty bastard cannot be stopped.
F Is for Family just blasted 10 strong new episodes of animated honesty in a world full of overly- censored TV with its second season. Season one was a short-lived experiment in which Burr gave Netflix a much-needed boost in animation with its first 6 episodes. With the help of Mark Price and several A-listers voicing over, the second season brings harder hits, consistent real-life LOLs (damn you, if you speak this way) and 10 fresh half-hour episodes of Burr’s major co-creation as Frank Murphy, the old school dad who continues to battle unemployment and the anger, depression and casual fatherly alcoholism that ensues.
If you’re an avid viewer of The Simpsons but think maybe (just maybe) they should’ve packed up and moved on about a decade ago, this unapologetic Al Bundy–type father figure (voiced over by Burr) will do the trick. With all the dad jokes, overly-used catchphrases (“I’m gonna put you through that fuckin’ wall!”) and equally-comedic costars (Laura Dern, Justin Long and Sam Rockwell as an animated McConaughey circa Dazed & Confused), F Is for Family is fine-tuning its fiddle and reeling us in like Family Guy did in their early seasons.
Only now, you can have your cake and eat it, too. Meaning, you can binge hard whenever you want and stuff your fat face with cake at the same time (you disgusting slob) while you enjoy your new favorite Netflix cartoon without your grandmother screaming in the background.
Bill Burr’s ‘F Is for Family’ Continues To Bring Brutal Honesty Back Into Our Pathetically PC Lives In Season 2
Now enjoy this terribly recorded clip. It’s funny enough it doesn’t matter.

Frank Loves His Wife
The best part about Frank Murphy, besides being hilariously voiced over by Bill Burr, is his brutal honesty, especially with his wife. Unemployment doesn't faze this guy's ability to self loathe in the least.
-
Frank Loves His Kids
Even more so, he's not afraid to intimidate his kids with threats of physical violence, along with his consistent interest in getting drunk in his underwear and hitting the sack (his bed, you sicko) at a strangely early hour.

Kevin Is a Realistic Teen

Kevin is the rebel child we usually love to hate, but knowing he's the eldest love child of Burr and Mark Price makes it pretty hard, even if some of the outlying voiceovers of his friends are hard to handle in large doses.

Say It Like You Mean It

One of the big problems with TV today is the inability to say what you feel and say it the way you'd like to (covered in spit and drenched in swear words), as every PC hack is up in arms over anything remotely offensive. Luckily, Burr was smart enough to animate it so it's all good!

Bill Murphy Has Every Hilarious Experience We Never Wanted
Photo: Netflix
This poor schmuck has to witness his parents fucking, his brother masturbating and any other traumatizing prepubescent experience you can imagine. By season six, this kid is going to be a goner. Or the next Unabomber.
-
Uncensored
We like our content uncensored. Pulling the Sons of Anarchy "Jesus Christ" line every time you want to drop the fuck-bomb is annoying. Just fucking say it, you fucking pussy! Sorry, but the message has to be conveyed this way for emphasis. Fuck.

Even the Little Girl Has Some Good Ones
Photo: Netflix
Unlike Family Guy, the little Murphy gal isn't the whipping boy (err, girl) of the family. While Meg Griffin getting pummeled is entertaining, they reserve most of the hostility for father Frank, allowing his red-faced anger to be understandable, like if Peter Griffin found out he was getting cancelled after only a couple seasons. Oh.

Emphasis on Emphasis
Not "shit," but "SHIT!"

Even Other People's Kids Get It Raw
Frank Murphy is just keeping it real, even for other people's kids. Goddammit, where has this show been all my life? If you like Burr's standup, this is a slam dunk, kids. Now go wastefully binge for 10 hours so he can pay the mortgage and make more of these already.
