In what is already being called the greatest thing to happen in Grand Rapids, Michigan since the town got a Denny’s, KnockOut Promotions KOP 54 went down on St. Patrick’s Day and featured one of the craziest things you’ll ever see in an MMA fight.
Now before Friday, odds are you best recognized Joseph Nehm from the phrase, “Who in the hell is Joseph Nehm?” But moving forward, Joseph Nehm will be known as the dude who got his ass kicked by Ryse “Showtyme” Brink so bad that he didn’t know where he was, who he was fighting and that the guy he had in a chokehold was…wait for it…the referee!
Brink needed all of like six or maybe seven seconds to take care of Nehm thanks to a brutal kick to the face that got the fight started. And even though the ref stepped in to bring the match to a quick end, that didn’t mean it was over. No sir. Again, Hehm was so fucked up that he thought a) the fight was still going and b) the ref was his opponent.
