Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Superbad already? Too bad pretty much every comedy movie to come since has been nothing but super bad. While there are a few noteworthy films in the last 10 years (Tropic Thunder, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, Forgetting Sarah Marshall), there is an overwhelming number of anticipated comedies and classic comedy sequels that fell through the cracks or just plainly disappointed to the point of tears. Even the occasional Jim Carrey movie, yes.
Check out 10 of the most disappointing comedies to come since Superbad in the last 10 years, then tell us if you can think of any really good comedies that have come since 2007. Because as far as we can tell, Superbad was the last good comedy movie of the last 10 years. Then pop down to the bottom and check out our favorite Superbad clip, the one where Jonah Hill goes into explicit detail about his childhood trauma: the public unveiling of his dick drawing treasure chest.
It’s Been 10 Years Since ‘Superbad’ and Nothing But Super Bad Comedies
Enjoy one of our favorite scenes from Superbad. It’s super good.
So many damn dicks. Perhaps Superbad needs a sequel? No? OK, OK just suggesting it.

Super Bad Comedies

"Dumb and Dumber To" (2014)

The long-awaited sequel to the 1994 comedy came 20 years later, and, despite being written and directed by the Farrelly brothers, the movie fell quite short of the original. But no one was expecting a miracle.

"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" (2013)

Will Ferrell got the gang back together for round two after a lengthy break in the newsroom, but fans were a little saddened to see the movie almost completely replicated its origin story.

"The Hangover II" (2011)

We couldn't tell you what the third one was about because the second was such a far cry from the first. Although the first was after Superbad, the second and third were bad enough to erase its good memory.

"I Love You, Man" (2009)

The Venice Beach bromance was more concerned with its location than its characters. Although we love Paul Rudd, this was up their with our least favorites, if not our very least favorite.

"The Campaign" (2012)

Will Ferrell could do a mean presidential impression, but everyone was expecting a hilarious Ferrell film. To our surprise, he had very few funny lines, and his character was overshadowed by Galifianakis.

"Jack and Jill" (2011)

What could be worse than a cheesy comedy with Adam Sandler? A cheesy comedies with two Adam Sandlers. He knows what he's doing: making the big bucks.
-
"Little Fockers" (2011)

After a six-year break, we lost our Focker flame when they came back for a final hoorah. Though the first two were significantly hilarious, the third felt like kick to the groin.

"Paul Blart: Mall Cop" (2009)

How this movie got a sequel is beyond us, but we're guessing it has something to do with Adam Sandler. Kevin James was great on TV, but his films leave a lot of laughs to be desired.

"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" (2015)

We had a feeling the second couldn't be great, considering we didn't expect the first to be when it was. And as much as we love Rob Corddry, we can only take so many dick jokes (and so much Clark Duke).

"Zoolander 2" (2016)

The first Zoolander took us a few tries to like, but now it's one of our favorites. The same did not work out for the follow-up.
