It’s good to get kids’ faces in the books if you’re looking to make them a well-rounded, productive member of society, but this is ridiculous.
A student inside the classroom at an unknown American school recently decided to record a female student who stood up from her desk and wanted to have a “discussion,” and it’s a good thing he or she did so because that “discussion” turned out to be quite epic.
Most dictionaries define the word “discussion” as “the action or process of talking about something, typically in order to reach a decision or to exchange ideas,” but apparently that definition is either outdated or isn’t clear enough for these students to comprehend exactly what a “discussion” entails.
Now in these students’ defense, there was definitely an exchange, but it involved fists, hair pulling and one face getting smashed by a book. At that point, it was no longer a discussion but rather a melee. And it was also at that point that I think it’s safe to say neither of them gave a shit about the definition of either word.
Enjoy.

Hmmm. Imagine how intelligent they would be if they put this much energy and effort into reading Bill Shakespeare instead of using his words as a deadly weapon.
