Melbourne wasn’t satisfied with its George Costanza themed bar, sausage dog race and huge David Bowie exhibition, so it’s gone and added a cheese toastie drive-through joint to its list of cool, new and ~very Melbourne~ things.
Cheese & Bread’s Melbourne pop-up shop, currently working out of a shipping container in Preston, is a drive-through cafe offering specialty coffee and six different deli style toasties featuring “recipes your mother never dared to dish out”.
Take, for example, the Tom & Jerry (pictured above) with a gooey house blend cheese, or the Mario & Luigi, with pesto, Roma tomatoes and that cheesy AF house blend cheese. Behold:
There’s also the Lenny & Carl (macaroni, béchamel sauce, and house blend cheese) and one dessert option, the Winnie & Tigger, containing Nutella, house blend cheese and icing sprinkles.
Ooft.
The Cheese & Bread pop-up drive-through is currently sitting at 518 High Street, Preston. Try to head along before all of the world’s cheese runs out, but if you can’t, catch some cheesylicious teaser pics below, and remember…
