The identity of the man isn’t known, with it being withheld from the public out of respect for the individual’s family. The police have stated that no foul play is suspected, with there being no other persons involved. According to Mercury News, an emergency call was made to the authorities informing them that the man was bleeding from the head, with him possibly having a gun.
Speaking to the press, Sergeant Andrea Urena didn’t confirm the cause of death, saying: “I can’t confirm any information regarding a manner or cause of death, or any weapons.” Confirming the death, she said: “They [the police] found one individual male down and that he was deceased. Through further investigation, they determined that there were no other individuals involved and they believe it was an isolated incident, and that there’s nobody else on the campus or in the public that is at risk.”
Apple has yet to release a public statement, though reports suggest the company is offering counseling to those at the headquarters and advised them to take the rest of the day off work.
