Jaguar is using NYIAS 2016 to make something good that much better — a rare feat when you consider that original goodness was a game changing car for the company.
The Jaguar F-Type in any of its current trim levels is already an outstanding car. Powerful, tight and defiantly loud, it’s a performance car that restored the honor of Jaguar performance cars of old and won multiple “car of the year” awards when it debuted.

Now that Jaguar handed the F-Type over to the mad scientists in its Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, a wonderfully monstrous version of the car is headed our way just a few months after NYIAS wraps.
The F-Type SVR packs the same 5.0 liter supercharged V8 as the standard edition, but SVO designers increased the horsepower 25 ticks to 575; added wider wheels; a new all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed, automatic track-tuned gearbox with paddle shifters.
Introducing carbon fiber to new spots like the roof stripped out weight from the previous F-Type and the F-Type R, pushing the SVR north of 200 mph — officially making the car the fastest production machine Jaguar ever produced. To stabilized and slow that vicious speed, an active rear spoiler and especially made carbon ceramic brakes are on stand by.
After I heard the Jaguar powers that be describe all of these enhancements, I was guessing we’d see a price tag around $150,000. Instead, they brought the car in just under that at $145,000. That’s a bargain that’ll start showing up on lucky roads later this year.
