Her name is Erika Wheaton.
She recently moved to Los Angeles from Miami. She’s 18 years old, a full time model, a part time student studying Fashion Marketing, and an entrepreneur: she owns and manages a digital talent agency (@wheatonmodels) and just launched an online swimwear store, beachbodyboutique.com. Woah.
I met with this inspiring individual at the house of Vivian and Ben Lee Ritchie Handler, a Mid-Century Modern stunner in the Los Feliz hills, built by renowned architect Richard Neutra , expanded upon by his son Dion, and then recently restored to its 60s splendor by the Ritchie Handlers. The exterior is lush and jungle-like, the interior vintage and artsy. Both Erika and I quickly fell in love with it.
The shoot was very, very chill, filled with laughs and conversation. It felt like we were just hanging out, but in the end, we locked up the house and walked away with a beautiful series of photographs.
