Airbnb has been voted the best company to work for, beating out the likes of Google, Facebook and Apple.
The accommodation rental startup topped Glassdoor’s annual list, with the tech industry accounting for 21 of the 50 companies listed in the feature. The list showcases the top-rated companies as voted for by their employees, with Glassdoor surveying workers from large, medium and small-sized business across the US. It represents a landmark moment for Airbnb, as not only is it the first time they topped the list, but it’s also the first time they’ve ever broken into the top 50.
Its workers praised it for its good company culture, with one review reading: “It’s a very creative environment. People are happy to share ideas. I feel empowered to get work done. I am free to manage my own time. I’m surrounded by talented and kind people. I feel like I can make a difference.”
Google, last year’s winner, was pushed down into 8th place this year, with Facebook sitting in 5th place. Apple was listed in 25th place, with Adobe in 19th and Twitter in 26th place.
