Watch Of The Week | Omega Seamaster 300

James Bond rules at the box office with Daniel Craig in the titular role of the MI6 secret agent 007. Bond’s (and maybe equally Craig’s) signature sense of suave, cool-headedness under pressure and masculine fashion appeal are what have transcended decades of Ian Fleming’s secret agent literary and cinematic canon. The latest incarnation of Bond, Spectre, is no different, complete with its brand of beautiful Bond women, devious shadowy villains, explosive action sequences, and a wardrobe to die for, which includes our new Watch Of The Week: the Omega Seamaster 300 Limited Edition.

Much like Bond, the watch is big on sex appeal, finesse, style and action. Omega has never been a slouch when fabricating a timepiece. Their special edition Bond watch is no different. While it won’t shoot lasers or make phone calls to MI6 headquarters, it is a beautifully rendered timepiece in sapphire crystal, boosted by anti-magnetic resistance. It makes its screen debut for the 24th Bond film, worn on Daniel Craig’s wrist during a grocery list of beautifully imaged film sequences.

Omega for its part calls the watch “beautiful and robust,” and rightly so. With its NATO watch band, the timepiece utilizes an “Omega Master Caliber Coaxial 8400 movement, a revolutionary movement capable of resisting magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.” The watch features a “lollipop” second hand, black ceramic bezel, and two time zones running in parallel to indicate your current timezone and that of a foreign timezone.

What are some of the other bells and whistles of the Omega Seamaster 300? It has a domed sapphire scratch-resistant crystal, is water resistant up to 300 meters, has a stainless steel case, is 41 mm in size, and retails for 6300€ in the EU or roughly $6741 in the U.S. All the top class, spectacular qualities you’d expect in a stunner of a watch come together to create the performance of a lifetime.  If you thought Daniel Craig was chewing up the scenery on screen in Spectre, think again. The Omega Seamaster 300 is definitely the scene stealer.
