Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk has revealed that he is making the company’s autonomous software its highest priority, publicly requesting that “hardcore software engineers” get in contact with him in order to expand upon his vehicles’ self-driving capabilities.

Tesla introduced an over-the-air online update to its Tesla Model S and Model X in October, introducing a new Autopilot mode that allowed the vehicles to steer and park themselves. However, the technology is not yet advanced enough to be able to work entirely autonomously, with it still being a necessity that a person remains in the driving seat to take over at any given moment.

While major advancements are being made to self-driving technology by Google, who are working on creating the first truly driverless vehicle, Elon Musk has stated that he is making his own version of the tech a “super high priority” for Tesla Motors, sending out a series of messages on Twitter detailing new job positions in the company in which individuals will work alongside him to make fully self-driving cars a reality.

Musk stated that those who apply for the role will be working directly with him, and he even gave out an email address for potential applicants to use, asking those interested in one of the available software engineering jobs to contact autopilot@teslamotors.com.
