Jeremy Clarkson Mocks BBC in New Amazon Commercial

Jeremy Clarkson has appeared in a TV commercial for Amazon and the service’s Fire TV stick, representing the streaming service for the first time since he signed a contract to produce a new car show for the company.

Clarkson references his sacking from the BBC in the ad, telling viewers of how he became “unbusy” during the spring, and skipping over BBC’s iPlayer service when highlighting the apps available using Fire TV.

Check it out below:

Clarkson signed a deal with Amazon alongside his former Top Gear co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May, with the trio producing a brand new car show for the service. Details of this show are thin on the ground, though we do know that the presenters have signed up for 36 episodes and that an air date for the series has yet to be announced. We also assume that it’ll be very similar to Top Gear, only without the BBC logo.

A source told The Mirror that Amazon has poached the old Top Gear crew away from the BBC, too, offering them huge pay rises to help them create the new show. There’s no word yet on whether or not the producer Clarkson hit in the face over a dispute about cold meat will be moving to the streaming company, though it’s unlikely.
