Creative Collabs | Public School x Tumi

American-based luxury luggage company Tumi has been upping their cool factor by collaborating with a new generation of fresh fashion designers.  They previously released a collection with Sophnet, a Japanese minimalist fashion label. Now, they’ve just launched a new collaboration with Public School, a rising menswear label designed by NYC duo Maxwell Osbourne and Dao-Yi Chow.

Launched in 2007, Public School is relatively new to the design game, but they’ve already won the first International Woolmark prize for menswear this year. The label’s aesthetic is perfectly matched for a collaboration of this kind: mostly monochromatic, refined, and with a wearable street style-inspired edge – think bomber jackets teamed with mesh vests, statement accessories (over-sized scarves, fedoras) and trainers.

Stepping outside of their usual comfort zone, Osbourne and Chow have taken Public School design signatures and applied them to an array of travel baggage, creating a focused 6-piece collection (ranging from $495USD to $995USD) for the style-conscious traveler who also desires function and ease-of-use while on the move. The timeless pieces are dark and sophisticated, including two hard shell wheeled cases – a medium size and international carry-on. The outer body is covered in a striking ‘black graphite’ pattern composed from Tumi’s Tegris material which weaves around the bags, fortifying its strength and adding an architectural look.

Another highlight of the collection is the ‘Travel Kit’, a small fabric case with leather handle that is can accommodate your basics for quick trips. A backpack, shoulder tote and fabric satchel make up the backbone of the collection – simple essentials perfect for a weekend away, heading to the gym or just daily casual use.

Dark, masculine and modern, Public School have designed a collection for Tumi with both simplicity and style at its heart.  The collection is available now on Tumi.com.
