After a long day on the grind there’s no better way to kick back and relax than a visit to the local happy hour with friends or co-workers. Lucky for you, New York City is packed with an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants that cater to all of your happy hour needs.
Here are a few of the best happy hours in New York City.
Amélie

If you’re a wine aficionado, look no further than Greenwich Village, and Amélie. This wine bar hosts happy hour each day from 5 to 7pm and features $6 glasses (normally $9 to $15) or the must-try three-glass wine flight for $10. It’s fully customizable, and these small glasses allow you to sample some of the fine offerings such as the Sauvignon Blanc or Chianti.
Boat Bar

If you’re solely in it for the booze, Boat Bar is easily the best happy hour on Smith Street. Each of these potent libations is offered up for $4 as are bottled beer and drafts. From 5 to 8pm each night you can drown your worries while listening to the rather infamous jukebox. Just note, there’s no food here, but a quick stop next door at Stinky’s has you covered.
Alewife NYC

For the finest of ales, or any type of beer really, Alewife NYC is always a great choice. For a mere $5 you can indulge in some of the highest quality craft brew offerings in New York (and elsewhere) as well as scoring $5 wine and $20 buckets. The happy hour starts at 4:20pm (you read that correctly) and ends at 7pm daily.
Agave

The West Village plays host to a spot already known for its bottomless booze brunch, but the happy hour is worth the visit as well. From 4 to 7pm you can score specialty margaritas (such as the watermelon, prickly pear, or blood orange) for just $5 a piece. In addition, you can also crave those hunger pangs, or keep the party going by ordering up one of the many appetizers that are also just $5.
