Ousted Men’s Warehouse Founder Moves Online

If you miss the “I guarantee it” guy, he’s back.

George Zimmer founded Men’s Warehouse over 40 years ago, which has since become the go-to store for those looking for nice suits, tuxedos, and other classy men’s duds for lower prices than designers. You may recall that, back in 2013, Zimmer was ousted from his own company after a bitter feud with his board of directors. Men’s Warehouse still lives on, but under the auspices of another CEO. Zimmer says he’s not bitter, but one could forgive him some animosity.

Whether vengeful or not, however, Zimmer is staying in the menswear game. According to CNET, Zimmer has started up his very own online rental outlet Generation Tux, a rental store that will mail your suit directly to you. After the success of companies like MeUndies, and other mail-order clothing outlets, it only makes sense that tuxedo rental should be made available online as well. The process is relatively simple, provided you have your measurements on hand. And even if you don’t, the site offers an online tutorial.

This is a big step for Zimmer, a self-described Luddite, who works with old-school clothing. But this may just be the future for groomsmen and aspiring high school promgoers everywhere.
