Highlight | London Fashion Week: HUNTER Originals

What gets the native Londoners more excited than seeing the newest collection of a heritage brand? Not much, and this season at London Fashion Week is no different. Hunter Originals celebrated its roots as a wet-weather brand this season, but how many times can they reinvent the Wellington boot? Apparently, quite a few, and many might say very creatively so, as they did this season with the clog.

On day two of LFW, Hunter sent cool, outdoor inspired clothes down the runway that put a new spin on “colorful rain wear”. In a tent-style setting, the brand’s first ready-to-wear collection attracted a number of a-list celebrities to the show, including designer Stella McCartney (wife of the designer), Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and actress Salma Hayek.

A whimsical combination of functional wear and style, creative director Alasdhair Willis used gradient colors into the outwear pieces, camp prints, sheer rubber coats, rope accents, large eyelets on jackets and fun prints to create a whimsical yet polished look. The collection also included waterproof pants and nylon anoraks and trench coats – much lighter than that of the typical Burberry trench.
