There are two ways a traveler can experience Aspen, Colorado. You can go the ski bum route and grab a room at a smaller chalet, focusing entirely on getting out onto the ski runs in the winter or the hiking trails in the summer.
On the other hand, you opt to focus on where you’ll be staying as much as what you’ll be doing by booking into luxury, service and sophistication at the St. Regis Aspen. The multi-million dollar property sits a block from the heart of downtown Aspen and within easy reach of the city’s top ski runs. More importantly, it serves as a focal point for local culture and activity during peak travel seasons.
Any St. Regis property is aimed at the elite — with prices to match. Rooms come at a premium, while meals and amenities do not come cheap. As always, luxury has a price. But, that cost is justified as the St. Regis Aspen is as much a destination in and of itself as it is a base of operations for exploring the surrounding town and mountainy countryside.
The guest rooms and suites are modern and well-equipped, with 24 hour butler service available for all guests. I digress here to point out that the hotel is really offering the equivalent of a valet, not a butler. The former was a man servant to help out at a gentleman’s convenience. A butler was usually head of a house’s servant staff. But, I nitpick.

The hotel tucks in near all of the city’s most popular activities — skiing, golf, horseback riding, hiding, fly fishing and shopping. While the concierge can help set any of those up for you, attractions inside the hotel include the Remede Spa (complete with waterfall and oxygen bar) and an extensive fitness center.
Dining options are highlighted by the Chef’s Club by Food & Wine Magazine. The new restaurant looks to gather the most interesting concepts and chef’s recipes from the magazine’s pages, presenting them in a quiet and intimate restaurant setting.
An additional classic St. Regis tradition available to guests is the Midnight Supper. The story goes that the socialites behind the creation of the St. Regis hotels – Lady Astor and Colonel John Jacob Astor IV – would select the proper friends and family to enjoy luxurious dinners in elegant, peaceful surroundings filled with music, cocktails and a chef’s finest efforts.
Guests to the St. Regis Aspen can experience the same ambiance when well-attired groups sit down at a Midnight Supper table to sample the hotel chef’s finest classic dishes in a multi-course culinary experience.
