Australia thoroughly enjoys a good beer and/or cider-related event, and a new family-friendly festival in Port Macquarie — called the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival — is the latest in the country’s long list of alcoholic events.
The inaugural Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival will take place at Westport Park on Saturday, 26th September, and is promising top-notch beer, cider, food, games and music.
Set against the Hastings River, the 2015 Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival will bring together some of the country’s best beer and cider makers, with a special bus ready for festival-goers to help alleviate any stresses about driving home after sampling their brews.
Australian beer consumption may be at a 68-year low, but festival goers can help lift those statistics with over 50 different Aussie beers and ciders that will (literally) be at hand at the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival.
American beers won’t be featured, so there won’t be any underwhelmed reactions to the brews on offer — US beers leave a bad taste in Aussie mouths, you see?
A beer keg toss competition is also planned for the event, boasting $600 in cash and prizes for the winners. To register for the competition, visit the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival website.
The event will also host gourmet food stalls, games and live music. For the kids, there will be a jumping castle, rounds of Bocce, a giant Jenga puzzle and more.
For more information about the event and its special bus timetables, visit the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival website.
