This year marks a change for New York fashion, as menswear designers will showcase their collections from July 13 to 16 at New York Fashion Week: Men’s. This decision was based upon the successful men’s fashion weeks held in London, Milan, and Paris.

“American menswear has never been stronger or more creative,” said Steven Kolb, CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Since men’s clothing sales increased 17.3% from 2009 to 2015, it is finally time to take menswear more seriously. Establishing the hashtags #NYFWM and #mensweartakeover, the CFDA and other social media influencers are spreading the word.
