Refined can be defined as “very subtle, precise, or exact.” Maison Margiela’s spring summer 2016 collection is the epitome of refined. Its classic lines and fitted clothing showcases that sophistication stills exists in an era of joggers and sweatshirts.

Opening the show was a suit perfectly molded to the model with studded details. The runway was filled with vibrant red, cobalt blue, metallic silver, midnight black, and crisp white colors. The integration of metallic suits with colorful trench coats and sleeveless robes was perfectly executed. Each look gave a new perspective on traditional formal attire. sheer sleeveless shirts with collage like designs added a modern edge to the spring summer looks. The shirts were staple pieces as well as works of art.

Overall, Maison Margiela gave a twist to a refined look. Cary Grant and Fred Astaire would be elated to see that class is still present in the 21st century.
