Top 10 Holiday-Themed Cocktails
The Snickerdoodle
This tasty drink is probably more of a dessert cocktail than anything else, but it’s so delicious that you might end up pounding a few more than you should. Toss 2 shots of Rumchata in with 1 shot butterscotch Schnapps. Mix in a cocktail shaker over ice. And don’t forget to rim your martini glass with cinnamon and sugar!
The Peppermint Stick
Nothing says, “holiday spirit” like peppermint sticks. They’re colorful, they’re flavorful and that minty kick makes them the candy of choice for everybody’s Christmas parties. What’s better? The alcoholic version of this little treat. Simply mix 1.5 shots of Crème de Cacao, 1 shot of peppermint Schnapps and 1 shot of light cream in cocktail shaker over ice. Pour. Drink.
Berry Christmas
Puns are not usually an indicator of a good drink, but we honestly can’t complain with this one. Muddle 4 blueberries, 4 raspberries and 2 blackberries in a glass and then add 2 shots of vodka and fill the rest with ginger ale.
Mistletoe Martini
How this beverage got its name is actually a little bit unclear… It doesn’t really resemble mistletoe and there are no special kiss-inducing side effects as far as we know. At least it’s pretty freaking tasty. Mix 1 shot vodka with 1.5 shots cranberry tea and 1 shot orange juice. Serve chilled.
Maple Bacon Donut Shot
Yes, it tastes as delicious as it sounds. But you can probably only take one shot before putting yourself at a severe risk of heart disease, so be careful. Fill a shot glass with 1/3 vodka, 1/3 butterscotch Schnapps and 1/3 Irish cream. Float a teaspoon of Maple Syrup on top and stir with a strip of bacon. Also, try not to have a heart attack.
Pear Basil Sipper
We’re not really sure how pear got attached to the winter holidays, but, regardless, we might as well take advantage of that fact. Muddle 3 fresh basil leaves with 4 tablespoons of pear nectar, two shots of vodka and 3 shots of Sierra Mist on the rocks. Refreshing and delicious.
Eggnog Martini
Eggnog is the ultimate holiday drink. It’s creamy, sweet and, at its best, it’s full of alcohol. But let’s switch this around and, instead of adding some alcohol to our eggnog, lets add some eggnog to our alcohol. Enter, the eggnog martini. Mix 2 shots of eggnog with 1 shot of vodka. Mix in a cocktail shaker over ice and empty it into a glass rimmed with cinnamon and sugar.
Grinch
This overwhelmingly green drink doesn’t sound so delicious, but the name is deceiving. This refreshing cocktail is a change of pace from the rest of this list. Mix 2 shots of Midori with 1/2 a shot of lemon juice and a dash of sugar on the rocks.
Snowball
This delicious cocktail’s main ingredient is Advocaat, a Dutch alcoholic beverage made primarily from eggs and brandy (so you know it’ll have a nice froth to it). To make this delicious drink, just mix 1 shot Advocaat with 2 shots of Sierra Mist and a splash of lemon juice on the rocks. Stir lightly.
The Santa Shot
And last but not least, a red, white and green shot that is as tasty as it is Christmas-ey. Layer crème de menthe, grenadine and peppermint schnapps in a shot glass. Simple, but very effective.
