How to Fix iOS 8’s Bluetooth and iCloud Bugs

iOS 8 is currently coming under a lot of fire over a couple of bugs that have recently been brought to the attention of its users.

One bug sees iPhone users running the iOS 8 unable to connect to Bluetooth devices such as stereos, while the other, much more problematic issue is users finding that their iCloud documents have been deleted when they select the “Reset All Settings” option on their device.

Unfortunately, the bluetooth issue cannot be solved without first tackling the iCloud issue, which until Apple releases a patch remains unpreventable. However, there are a couple of ways you can take to ensure that your iCloud data is not lost forever:

iOS 8 iCloud Methods to Ensure No Loss of iCloud Documents

  1. If you’ve already lost your documents to the iCloud bug, then there is nothing you can do on your device to retrieve them. However, you can contact Apple Support right here, with many users reporting that the company’s customer service department was able to get their lost files back for them.
  2. If you’re going to select the “Reset All Settings” option (which you will need to do if you wish to fix the Bluetooth bug) then you’re going to need to back up your files. You can do this using Time Machine (which you can learn more about here) or Google Dropbox, which you can sign up to here.

iOS 8 Bluetooth Bug Fix

  1. The iOS 8 Bluetooth bug can only be fixed by resetting all of your iPhone’s settings. As previously mentioned, doing this while running iOS 8 will lead to your iCloud documents being deleted, so before performing this step, follow our above tips.
  2. You can perform a reset on your device by opening up your Settings and then going to General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Users are reporting that this will then solve any Bluetooth connectivity issues their devices are experiences.

These are obviously awkwardly solutions to these problems, but they’re the only known fixes/workarounds when it comes to these troublesome iOS 8 bugs. Apple is having a bad time of things when it comes to getting iOS 8 off the ground, but hopefully these problems will be resolved sooner rather than later.
