London ‘Riding Club’ Invites Rookies to Polo

Fancy a mid-week polo practice or lessons in close proximity to the Big Smoke? The Riding Club, a hybrid of concierge, specialist travel agent and social planner for the equestrian set, has just launched the City Polo Initiative.

Responding to a rise in membership and interest from large City institutions launching their own polo teams, the Club aims to make polo more accessible to busy Londoners.

Riding Club London Managing Director, Katharine Quinlan, says polo is enjoying a revival.

“Whether it is the glamour of the social scene, the furiously competitive nature of the sport itself or a creative solution to staying fit. The RCL has seen particular interest from City professionals for whom the strains of the working week melt away as they focus on the ball thundering across the manicured grass.”

The City Polo Initiative will complement the Riding Club’s existing services, which includes organizing holidays to polo hubs like Argentina, and other parts of the world. Members enjoy discounts at specialist shops like Polistas, in Mayfair, where one can purchase a beautiful hand-woven belt, like the one Prince Harry secures around his waist.

The Club will support new teams of Londoners through management, training and potentially, sponsorship. The Club has created its own team, ‘RCL Polo,’ made up of members who are already enjoying regular training and matches at some of the UK’s leading polo grounds.

Accessible day clinics, Sunday morning practices and weekend breaks for all levels of players are part of The Club’s benefits. They also host social events, lectures and cocktail parties at great venues across the city.
